At the age of five, Julie knew she was hooked when the trail ride pony ran back to the barn with her laughing all of the way. Her next experience was to buy her first pony for $50.00 and costing her parents $100.00 a month to board it. She continued to trail ride until college took her out of horses.
The next chapter opened with a husband and six children whom she was able to enjoy her passion for horses with. Hunters was the next path that Julie took in the equestrian world. Lessoning and showing with Lynn Redig, John and Stephanie Knepps, Jonathan Stables and currently with Mary Konu of Linu Lakes as well as several clinics.
In 2005, Julie started dressage with her horse Flynn. She continues to teach Western, English Jumpers, and Dressage.
Over the years she has watched her students grow into amazing riders.
Mary Konu has been riding and training horses for many years and currently resides as a trainer at Brookside Stables in Hugo, MN. Mary brings clear instruction and creative goals to each clinic in order to improve both horse and rider in the Hunter ring. She is focused on correct riding with the aids to enhance balance, impulsion, and empathy for the learning horse. Mary offers pro rides, lessons, clinics, and horse training to her clients. Her students enjoy her direct method of teaching and fun personality. Currently, Mary Konu competes for Brookside, riding clients horses, at a variety of levels in the hunter/jumper show rings. She enjoys playing with her cats and riding her own horse during her spare moments
Liz Lamm started Dressage in the 70's as a working student for Chuck Grant (Father of American Dressage). From there, she went on to manage stables including Liberty Hill Stables and Three Gaits in Stoughton. Liz Has always enjoyed giving lessons and training horses of all varieties. She enjoys showing and training through Prix St. George but has ridden Grand Prix movements as well during clinics with Lois Heyerdahl, Bo Jena, and Heather Wislon Roller. Liz Lamm is an USDF certified Judge with distinction. Recently, she has enjoyed teaching lessons at Bit-N-Bridle, Rivendell, and Three witches.
